MetroChem commenced its manufacturing operations in 1976 with an installed capacity of 25 MT per annum. Its present installed capacity is 17,000 MT per annum.

MetroChem has emerged as leading manufacturers and exporters of dyestuff and dye intermediates. The meteoric rise of the Company as a dyestuff major is reflected in the steady improvement in productivity, output and employment as well as in its ever-widening product-range catering to customers worldwide.

MetroChem has initially established units in the sprawling industrial area in
Vatva, Ahmedabad. However, recognizing the need for enlarging its activities,
the Company set up a major state-of-the-art facility at Umraya, near Baroda,
in 1995 spread over 300,000 sq metres. The unit attempts to meet the demand
for high-end products developed through the Company's in-house R&D efforts.
